Queretaro, Mexico - January 27th, 2021
The International Federation of FXC - Fireball Extreme Challenge™, the Mexican Federation of FXC - Fireball Extreme Challenge™, the Associazione Italiana Cultura e Sport - AICS International, the Institute of Sports and Recreation of the State of Queretaro (INDEREQ), the Labor Congress and the Workers’ Sports Institute - INDET and under the leadership of CONADE, and the Presidency of the Section 24 of the SNTE, the largest Mexican teacher union, held a press conference last January 26th, 2021 to announce the launch of the “FXC Championship for Clubs 2021” and the “FXC World Cup 2021” that will take place respectively from May 18 to 20 and May 21 to 23, 2021 in Queretaro.
Teams from the seven Mexican states (Querétaro, Veracruz, Michoacán, Guanajuato, Chiapas, Mexico City and Hidalgo) will compete in the national championship, while the countries of Mexico, the United States, Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, San Salvador, India, Italy, Cyprus, Israel, Spain and Saudi Arabia they have been invited to participate to the 2021 FXC World Cup.
The double event will be broadcast live on social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, and TicToc).
Although the current pandemic creates problems for the teams in different nations even to properly train, six countries (Mexico, USA, Cuba, Venezuela, India, and San Salvador) have already confirmed their presence.
This will be the first competitive double sporting event in the world where all athletes (both amateurs and professionals) will be playing wearing a mask at all time. The strict application of protocols and security measures issued by international and national health authorities will also made mandatory. This reflects the policy adopted by the International FXC Federation that since March 2020 has been pushing their athletes to train even at home wearing face masks.
The press conference was attended by John Darren Williams II, representative of the International FXC Federation and the co-owner of Ereslan Media, the advertising agency that from 2021 is in charge of the communication of the FXC Federation, Fabiola Lopez Rivera, President of the Mexican FXC Federation, Max Bartoli, the sport’s co-creator, Jose Cruz Araujo Avila, President of INDET Queretaro, Imelda Montelongo on behalf of Prof. Maurino Morales García, General Secretary of the SNTE Queretaro, Clemente Magadan, FXC delegate for the state of Queretaro, Hidalgo and Janajuato, Jaime Gotoo, the trainer of the Mexican National team and the coaches of the Cuban and Venezuelan teams.
